Have you ever wanted to make your own jewellery? Do you have treasured memory or momentous occasion you’d like to mark? Stuck on ideas for a birthday or hen party? Join us for a magical day filled with friends, fun and fire!
Choosing between a pendant or a ring taster day (everyone must pick the same) you and up to three friends can spend the day learning the foundation skills of silversmithing and jewellery making. Our talented tutors will take you through sawing, filing, forming, soldering and finishing a piece of jewellery entirely handmade by you.
Nestled in the heart of the Barbican, the studio and its surroundings are bursting to the brim with inspiration and ideas to challenge and push design boundaries. An ever-changing selection of jewellery from some of Britain’s best designers will showcase the skills learnt in context and provides an expansive catalogue of inspiration.
If you have any of your own gemstones, sea glass, found treasure or just an idea – please bring these with you on the day and we will help turn your vision into reality! You can expect to finish the day with either a stone set textured ring, or stone set textured pendant, and a wealth of skills that can be taken forward – whether on your own or with us in our 10 week courses. The morning will being at 10am and Healthy and Safety will be covered on the morning, with an email being sent out about a week before the day with a reminder and any information you need to know ahead of the day. Closed toed flat shoes and sensible comfortable clothes you don’t mind getting dirty are essential! We will take a break for lunch midway through the day and with a fantastic selection of eateries nearby, you’ll be spoiled for choice!

Spaces are limited with a minimum of 3 students, maximum of 4. Please note the cost of the course is non-refundable. A refund may be made, only if your place can be filled.
