Ania Wawrzkowicz

Ania’s jewellery comes from her observations of the natural world.  Her work is sculptural, given depth by subtle characteristics such as detailed surface textures, intricate shapes, or uneven sculptural qualities. Trained in fine art, her practice is informed by contemporary art and found natural materials. Drawing inspiration from the landscape and geological topographies, Ania’s hand-crafted pieces interpret and reimagine the effortless beauty of nature’s structures, forms and curves, rendering them into tangible, wearable objects.

Ania uses traditional carving and casting techniques.  Each piece is one of a kind and has the unique, imperfect and tactile quality of a handmade object.

Ania currently lives and works on the north coast of Devon as an artist and contemporary jeweller.
She works in a variety of mediums and projects, moving between photography and sculpture to painting and jewellery design, all of which inspire and influence her collections.
She has studied at the London College of Communication, University of the Arts London as well as Camberwell College of Art. “

We have more work by this designer, including one-off pieces, available exclusively through our quaint Barbican Gallery in Plymouth.
