Adele’s jewellery explores form and density. Her collection is based upon the traditional silversmithing technique of hand raising, where a flat sheet of metal is hammered into a hollow form. This hammering process is used in an instinctive and spontaneous way in order that each piece has an individual and natural quality. These organic gold and silver forms are often combined with smooth hand carved wooden elements to create wonderfully tactile jewellery. Her work is inspired by drawings made from nature, ancient artefacts and found objects, looking at shapes, materials and textures and translating these drawings into three dimensional pieces.
